Video: This Sunday's theatre question is about theatre in these worrying and strange times

Don't know about you but I'm feeling really weird and unsettled by what is going on in the UK and globally at the moment with the coronavirus.

Everything seems to be happening so fast, just on Friday Poly and I were talking about when theatres are likely to have to close and what we were going to do in the meantime.

Let me know your thoughts in the comments ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️.

Missed a Sunday theatre question? Here's are the first two I posted:

The question about unexpected audience experiences.

The question about directors.

The question about which theatre production you'd revive?

If you want to see more of my videos, including my 60-second reviews, follow my YouTube channel, like my Facebook page or follow me on Instagram, whichever is your favourite platform 🤓.

Video: This Sunday's theatre question is about whether you've had an unexpected, unscripted audience experience

With live performance, stuff doesn't always go smoothly or to plan. There is a rogue prop, a trip, a cough and occasionally those unexpected incidents spill out into the audience.

So, my Sunday theatre question is whether you've had something happen to you while sitting in the audience or have seen it happen to someone else.

My own 'that wasn't meant to happen to me' experience was while watching Teddy Ferrera at the Donmar Warehouse (review here if you are interested).

Video: A question for a theatre free Sunday

There isn't much theatre on a Sunday so here's a question for you about the back catalogue of plays you've seen.

Would love to know your thoughts in the comments...

This video also marks my first daylight appearance 'on film'. I'm expecting a sweet spot of 'still light' post-show reviews around the 21 June.

Video: 60 Second review of Endgame at the Old Vic with Alan Cumming & Daniel Radcliffe

Here are my 60 seconds worth of thoughts on Endgame at the Old Vic, recorded when I got home from the theatre.

The bit I was halfway through saying at the end (the video was cut for Instagram) was 'Amazing...way with ladders'.

If you want more than 60 seconds worth you can read my full review here.

For more video reviews follow my Instagram account or YouTube channel.

And if you've seen Endgame, let me know what you thought in the comments ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Recorded fresh home from the theatre, here is my 60 seconds worth of thoughts on You Stupid Darkness! at the Southwark Playhouse.

It's on until 22 February (official website here) and you can read my full review over on this post.

Have you seen it? Let me know what you thought.

Quick video review: The Duchess of Malfi, Almeida Theatre and a bit of a Lydia Wilson gush

Some quick, morning after, thoughts on the Duchess of Malfi played by Lydia Wilson at the Almeida Theatre.

’Duchess of Malfi’ transcribed as ’Duchess of mouthy’ in the captions which I thought was slightly unfair 😂.

You can read my full review here - it's great to see Lydia Wilson back on stage again after too long away.

Introducing quick video reviews: Fairview, Young Vic Theatre

A few weeks ago I decided to try something new: quick video reviews (reactions) to plays I've just seen.

I've been posting them on my Instagram account and on the Rev Stan Theatre blog Facebook page (connect/like to get all sorts of extra bits and bobs) and thought I might start posting them here on the blog too.

These aren't to replace written reviews, just something extra...and speaking of which I will get around to finishing my full Fairview review but in the meantime, here are some quick thoughts.

Fairview is on at the Young Vic until 23 January 2020.
