Rehearsal photos: Theo James and Emilia Fox in Sex With Strangers, Hampstead Theatre

Rehearsal photos have arrived for the hotly anticipated Sex With Strangers at Hampstead Theatre starring Emilia Fox and Theo James. Probably shouldn't admit that Theo James makes me a bit giggly but he does, there I said it.

Directed by Peter DuBois, Laura Eason's comedy tells the story of two writers trapped by snowy weather in a remote B&B. It opens for previews at Hampstead Theatre's main stage on Jan 27 and runs until Mar 4.

Rehearsal and promotional photos: Rufus Sewell, Tim Key and Paul Ritter in Art, Old Vic Theatre

The photo shoot for Art's promotional pics look like Rufus, Tim and Paul all had fun (see a behind the scenes vid here). There's also a bunch of rehearsal shots - really looking forward to this one and not just because of the opportunity to see Rufus Sewell on stage again. Ahem.

Art at Old Vic Theatre is directed by Yasmina Reza and opens for previews on Dec 10 and then runs until Feb 17, 2017. For more info head to the Old Vic website.

Rehearsal photos: Wild Honey, Hampstead Theatre

Hot on the heels of Platonov at the National Theatre in the summer comes Michael Frayn's Wild Honey which is based on the same early Chekhov play which was untitled and discovered after the playwright's death. Directed by Howard Davies and Jonathan Kent, this comedy of errors is a tale of nineteenth century Russian life replete with classic misunderstandings, irrepressible desires and nostalgia for a vanishing world.

Geoffrey Streatfeild stars as Platonov and the play opens for previews on Dec 2 and runs until Jan 14. Look out for my review in December.

Rehearsal pics: Glenda Jackson et al but where is Rhys Ifans? King Lear, Old Vic

Must admit I'd forgotten quite how starry the cast is for the Old Vic's King Lear - Celia Imrie, Jane Horrocks, Danny Webb etc - and there was me merely excited about Glenda Jackson and Harry Melling. One name I'd also forgotten about is Rhys Ifans who is playing Fool but is notable in his absence in the these rehearsal pics. Curious. The first preview is tonight and then it runs until Dec 3.

Rehearsal pics: Hampstead Theatre's The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide to Capitalism and Socialism

Tony Kushner's The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide to Capitalism and Socialism With a Key to the Scriptures  - to use the full title - opens for previews on October 18 at Hampstead Theatre and runs until Nov 26. Starring Tamsin Greig it tells the story of a family gathering:

New York, 2007. Gus Marcantonio, retired longshoreman, former trade union organiser, renaissance man, feels that the world has turned its back on everything he has fought for in life. With his sister, he summons his three children home, trailing the appendages of their chaotic lives, to their Brooklyn brownstone for the last and most unusual family reunion yet...

Rehearsal pics: Lisa Dwan in No's Knife, Old Vic

Not a great deal to go on, what with it being a solo performance but we just love Lisa Dwan so that is alright. Directed by Joe Murphy this production of Samuel Beckett's No's Knife promises to be filled with piercing insight, rage, wit and humour; a journey into the heart of Beckett, unlocking his contemporary relevance to gender identity and the human condition. Runs at the Old Vic from 29 September to 15 October.

First look at rehearsal images: Shopping and F***ing, Lyric Hammersmith

It's twenty years since the explosive premiere of Mark Ravenhill's black comedy Shopping and F***ing. Olivier Award-winning Sean Holmes directs the play which follows three disconnected young adults whose lives have been reduced to a series of transactions in an emotionally shrink wrapped world. You can catch it at the Lyric Hammersmith from 7 Oct to 5 November and in the meantime here are some rehearsal pics.

Production photos: Mark Rylance in Nice Fish and how to get a free ticket @nicefishtheplay

Didn't get a ticket to see Mark Rylance's Nice Fish when it comes to London from New York  in November? Fear not. First up the run at the Harold Pinter Theatre has been extended by three weeks to 11 February. But if you want a chance to nab a free ticket (in a private box) then come dressed as a fish or fisherman (with your fishing rod).  These tickets are available on a first come first served basis from 6pm on the night of the performance (1.30pm for matinees). One ticket per person so your friend/companion/lover/other half will have to dress up too.

Want to know more about the play, tickets etc then head to http://www.nicefishtheplay.co.uk/
